About Kitties

Kitties is an app I made trying to understand XCode. It's rather simple, you can choose cat's name (Changes cat API) and press Randomize to get a random image of a cat. The app was translated to few languages by my online friends.

Development

I learned a bit of Swift with the Swift Playground app by Apple. Then I used the Swift Docs to find what else I need, the docs have nice code snippets that are ready to be used. For API processing I used this video.

Ancient version history

An early version of Kitties is bundled as an extra with Google Balls MacOS Port, which can be downloaded from here. I had the source code uploaded to GitHub, but for some reason it uploaded the very first commit, which was the base Xcode Hello World app, so well Kitties source code became lost media. More on how I restored Kitties is on my blog.
